ERA Holds a Public Hearing in Pader District

On Tuesday, 20th March 2018, Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA), held a Public Hearing in respect to License Applications by Maji Power Limited for the Generation and Sale of 17.66 MW of electricity from two projects (Achwa Hydro 3 and Achwa Hydro 4), to be located on River Achwa in Angagura Sub-County, Pader District.

The Public Hearing, held at Angagura Sub-County Headquarters in Aruu County North Constituency was attended by among others; the area Members of Parliament, the Chairperson and Councilors of Pader District Local Government, community leaders and over 200 Project Affected Persons.

The Public Hearing was convened to receive views from the likely Project Affected Persons in respect to the establishment of the two Projects.

The Woman Member of Parliament for Pader District, Hon. Lowila CD. Oketayot commended the projects and requested the Projects Affected Persons to embrace them for Economic Development.

The presiding officer of the Public Hearing Mr. Edward Iruura, who also represented the ERA Chief Executive Officer informed the Project Affected Persons that their views, raised during the Public Hearing, would be considered by the Authority before issuing the License to Maji Power Limited.
