Bulk Supply Tariffs (BST)

 

 

Transmission tariffs also referred to as the ‘bulk supply tariffs’ are prices charged by Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited (UETCL) to the distribution companies. It is a Time of Use (ToU) energy charge, with three time bands namely Peak (18.00 – 24.00 hrs), Shoulder (6.00 – 18.00 hrs) and Off-peak (24.00 – 6.00 hrs). The time of use periods, which are set by ERA are amended from time to time depending on the load profile.

In accordance with Clause 61 of the Electricity Act 1999, cap 145, Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited is mandated to import and export electric power in Uganda. The Current Export/Import Tariffs (July 2008) are shown in the table below:
