The Secretariat

The Authority is supported by a Secretariat that carries out the day-to-day activities of translating ERA policies into actions. It provides technical recommendations to the Authority on matters relating to the statutory functions of the Authority.

The secretariat comprises competent and experienced professionals in the fields of the authority's jurisdiction.

The Management of ERA Secretariat is headed by the Chief Executive Officer, who is an ex-officio member of the Authority, and oversees the day-to-day activities of the ERA Secretariat spread into four operation departments.

1. Legal Department
2. Technical Regulation Department,
3. Economic Regulation Department
4. Finance and Administration Department

There are laid down terms and conditions of service staff of the authority. These are in the Electricity Regulation Authority Employee's Terms and Conditions of Service document. These regulations are made in accordance with and subject to the provisions provided for under the Electricity Act of 1999. They were in force on the 26th day of October 2001, and apply to all members of the authority.
