NOTICE OF INTENDED APPLICATION FOR A LICENcE FOR GENERATION AND SALE OF ELECTRICITY FROM KILEMBE MINES HYDROPOWER PROJECT

The Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA) has under Section 29 of the Electricity Act 1999, Cap 145, received a Notice of Intended Application for a licence from South Asia Energy Management Systems, Inc. for generation and sale of electricity from Kilembe Mines Hydropower Project.

South Asia Energy Management Systems, Inc. intends to generate approximately 8MW of electricity across River Nyamwamba in Busongorora County, Kasese District. The generated power will be sold to the national grid.

Interested persons are invited to obtain details of the proposed project from the addresses below:

Under Section 30 of the Electricity Act 1999, Cap 145, the Electricity Regulatory Authority hereby invites directly affected parties and local authorities in the areas affected by the project to make comments and lodge objections (if any) on the notice to the Authority within thirty (30) days of Publications of this notice. Interested parties must submit their written comments, objections or interests by recorded delivery to the reception at ERA House by 4.00pm on Monday November 10th 2008 for the attention of:
