Mr. Ben Zedde Dramadri Mr. Ben Z. Dramadri is the Chairman of the Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA). As head of the policy arm of the Authority, he is the link between ERA and the Ministry. Mr. Dramadri is a holder of Bachelor of Arts (London) from the University of East Africa, Makerere University College, and a Mid-career Master of Public Administration from John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts, in the United States of America. He is a retired civil servant, and rose to the rank and position of Permanent Secretary. He worked as Administrative Officer, was promoted to Senior Assistant Secretary and later promoted to rank of Principal Assistant Secretary in the late 60's. He joined East African Airways Corporation as Regional Manager for Uganda in July 1970 and later was transferred to New York as Area Manager for North America. He left East African Airways in 1975 when the community broke up and remained in USA until 1979, when he returned to Uganda and was appointed as Principal Private Secretary to H.E. the President of Uganda. He worked as the Permanent Secretary in several Government Ministries, which included; Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife and Ministry of Energy, which was later changed to Ministry of Natural Resources. As Permanent Secretary to the Ministries of Energy, and then Natural Resources, he was responsible for coordinating and monitoring all activities of the Ministries, among which was the field of Energy. He initiated and spearheaded the development of major energy policies that are revamping the energy sector. In addition to several other courses and conferences, Mr. Dramadri has attended meetings, workshops and training courses in Utility Reform and Regulation. |
