Bid Notice under Open International Bidding

PROCUREMENT OF CONSULTANCY SERVICES ( STUDY ON DISTRIBUTION  SYSTEM  LOSSES AND  COLLECTION RATES BY UMEME LTD )

The Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA) is a statutory body established under the Electricity Act. Cap 145, to regulate the generation, transmission, distribution, sale and export/import of electricity in Uganda.

1. The Electricity Regulatory Authority has allocated funds to use the proceeds  hereof to acquire consultancy services.for study on distribution system losses and Collection Rates by Umeme Limited
2. The Electricity Regulatory Authority now invites sealed bids from interested eligible bidders for the provision  of consultancy services to study the distribution system losses and Collection Rates of Umeme Limited
3. This procurement will be conducted in accordance with the Open International Bidding procedures contained in the Government of Uganda’s Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act, 2003 and are open to all bidders from eligible source countries.
4. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from The Head Procurement and Disposal Unit, Electricity Regulatory Authority and inspect the bidding documents at the address given below at 7(a) from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday except public holidays.
5. A complete set of Bidding Documents in Englishmay be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below at 7(b) and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of UGX.50,000/=Fifty thousand Uganda Shillings). The method of payment will be to the ERACashier who will issue an ERA receipt of payment and then pick the bid document from the ERA reception beginning May 19, 2010.
6. Bids must be delivered to the address below at 7(c) at or before 2:30 pm July 13, 2010. Late bids shall be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at the address below at 7(d) at 3:00 pm
